Dr. Sunny Bhatia National President of Prime Healthcare
Dr. Sunny Bhatia, MD, is the President and Chief Medical Officer of Prime Healthcare, as well as the CEO of Prime Healthcare Region I, overseeing 15 hospitals in California and Nevada. He also serves as the Chief Medical Officer at Sherman Oaks Hospital and Encino Hospital Medical Center in Los Angeles County. Under his leadership, Sherman Oaks Hospital has been recognized as a “100 Top Hospital” by PINC AI™ and both hospitals have received numerous clinical awards and five-star ratings from Healthgrades.
Dr. Bhatia is a highly respected interventional cardiologist with quadruple board certifications in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Nuclear Cardiology, and Interventional Cardiology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Interventions, and the American College of Healthcare Executives.
He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and his medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School. Dr. Bhatia completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the Mayo Clinic, where he received the Internal Medicine Outstanding Achievement Award, and his Cardiology fellowship at the University of Southern California. He also holds a Master of Medical Management from the USC Marshall School of Business and is an Associate Professor of Medical Education at the California University of Science and Medicine.
